Early Intervention
Early intervention refers to services and supports that can help young children with developmental delays. Through early intervention, kids from birth to age 3 can get services at home or in the community and will have an IFSP plan developed to support this.
In Massachuesetts, anyone can refer a child to an Early Intervention program by contacting the program that serves their city or town: https://www.walpole.k12.ma.us/page/child-find-notice
The process of transitioning out of the Early Intervention program and into the school system should start when your child is 2.6 years old. Mass.Gov Best Practice Guide in Early Childhood Transition (PDF)
